He's Smiling and Joking!
Mike is doing great today ... I am so relieved! He is smiling and making his usual clever jokes, and was drinking juice when I left him earlier this afternoon. He is still in the Cardiac Recovery Room of the Cardiac Intensive Care, and I expect he will be through tomorrow as well. This is ok with me, because that means they are monitoring him very closely! The physicians and nursing staff have been so wonderful ... he is in very good hands. I'll be going back this evening (I had to come home to take a nap too!); I only spend a few minutes at a time with him so as not to tire him out. Once he is in a "regular" intensive care room - maybe tomorrow - I'll be able to go in and hang out with him for longer. I marvel at the miracles God can work! Thank you for your support and your prayers. Keep praying! Peggy

ReplyDeleteHi Peggy --
ReplyDeleteBrian Gegel here; I talked to Connie yesterday and she let me know about what's all going on in your lives. I just checked the blog and am relieved and thankful to see that things are going well. Give Mike our love; you and Mike and the girls are in our prayers. Wow. May you feel God's embrace during these challenging times! peace and love -- Brian
Hey,
ReplyDeleteOn Tuesday evening, about 6:00 PM MDT I called Mikes temporary residence to learn his status. Boy, talk about confusing. First, Mike answered the phone telling me he had to get the nurse to answer my questions. You would have thought he would know if he was okay or not. But then Mike came on the phone again and asked if he could help me? Suddenly I thought they had missed his heart and removed his brain but I humored him for a second asking him if he hadn't just answered the phone. He laughed in response telling me that in fact he was Mike the Nurse and the phone had been answered by Mike the Secretary. Well, I took on a new persona as Mike the Friend inquiring about Mike the Patient. I knew after all that rigmarole that news was good and that was confirmed.
So, I want to know, after all these years thinking I know Mike, just who, in Mike's Name, is Mike? Talk about stress! I am not sure you didn't make a mistake and maybe you should go back to cartography. There, at least you didn't have to be the paper, and the stylus, and the computer , and the earth and and and andandandandand, and it sounds like Mike has things under control. God bless you all.
